Scalekit: MCP vendor profile

Scalekit is an OAuth 2.1 authorization server for MCP servers with DCR and CIMD, and also sells AgentKit, an MCP gateway with 600+ connectors and virtual MCP servers scoped by agent role, as documented by the vendor. Scalekit warns that toggling DCR or CIMD requires restarting the MCP server because frameworks such as FastMCP cache authorization server details (docs.scalekit.com).

What it does for this layer

Scalekit recommends keeping both Dynamic Client Registration and Client ID Metadata Document enabled for public clients such as Claude, Cursor and VS Code, so clients without CIMD fall back to DCR (docs.scalekit.com). Scalekit has the MCP server host /.well-known/oauth-protected-resource with the metadata JSON copied from the dashboard, whose authorization_servers field holds the Scalekit resource identifier (docs.scalekit.com). Scalekit offers a FastMCP plugin that, per the quickstart, adds auth to an MCP server "in just 5 lines of code" (docs.scalekit.com, vendor's own claim).

Scalekit pricing describes AgentKit as connecting agents "to 600+ connectors and 30,000+ tools" (www.scalekit.com, vendor's own claim). Scalekit's AgentKit Free plan includes 10,000 tool calls and 10,000 trigger events a month; Growth is 99 USD a month with 100,000 tool calls plus 0.50 USD per 1,000 more (www.scalekit.com). Scalekit's product menu lists AgentKit as an "MCP Gateway for agents" with "Virtual MCP servers" that scope tools by agent role (www.scalekit.com).

What it does not do

  • Scalekit does not host the developer's MCP server; the server validates Scalekit tokens with the SDK (docs.scalekit.com).
