n8n: MCP vendor profile
n8n includes a built-in MCP server per instance that lets MCP clients search workflows, run the ones marked available to MCP, and create or edit workflows and data tables, on n8n Cloud or self-hosted, as documented by the vendor. n8n recommends OAuth for the MCP connection, with access-token rotation and callback URL restrictions documented (docs.n8n.io).

What it does for this layer
The n8n MCP server URL is copied from Settings, Instance-level MCP, Connect a client, and ends in /mcp-server/http (docs.n8n.io). Auto-exposing new workflows to MCP is rolling out gradually from n8n 2.36.0, per the docs on 5 Nov 2026 (docs.n8n.io). n8n documents a separate MCP Server Trigger node and explains how it differs from instance-level MCP access (docs.n8n.io).
On self-hosted n8n, instance-level MCP access can be disabled completely (docs.n8n.io). MCP clients can manage n8n agents from n8n 2.34.0; agents are marked Preview (docs.n8n.io). n8n runs a docs MCP server alongside the instance-level server (docs.n8n.io).

What it does not do
- n8n does not expose every workflow to MCP by default; workflows must be marked available (docs.n8n.io).
