A2A joins the Agentic AI Foundation
The A2A project was accepted as a Growth Stage project at the Linux Foundation-directed Agentic AI Foundation, next to MCP, goose and AGENTS.md. The A2A spec is at 1.0.0 with JSON-RPC, gRPC and HTTP+JSON bindings. Reported 27 August 2026 by a2a-protocol.org, read 4 November 2026.
What it changes in the data held here
10 of 7,470 probed top-10,000 domains publish an A2A agent card at /.well-known/agent-card.json, which is the discovery file the specification names.
The connector log shows which protocol revisions the directory's reachable servers answered with: 189 on 2025-11-25, 40 on 2025-06-18, 16 on 2026-07-28, 11 on 2025-03-26, 9 on 2024-11-05. Servers on 2025-11-25 still use the initialize handshake that 2026-07-28 removes.
