The sign-in route, step by step
- Request
https://mcp.render.com/mcpwithout a token. It answers 401 and aWWW-Authenticateheader. - Read the OAuth metadata at
https://api.render.com/.well-known/oauth-authorization-server. It lists no registration endpoint. - Register the client by hand in the company's developer settings, or present a client ID metadata document if the authorization server supports one.
- Authorize as a person, then retry the endpoint with the bearer token. The connector stops after step 2.
See OAuth for MCP: client ID metadata documents and dynamic registration for how each route works.
CLI
No CLI is on record for Render. The directory checks a package only where a source names one, so this is a floor: a company can ship a command line that no source read for this edition mentions. See shipping a CLI agents can use.
