# Teleport: MCP vendor profile

Teleport enrolls MCP servers as resources in a Teleport cluster, so engineers and AI clients reach them through Teleport with role-based permissions, audit and short-lived identity, as documented by the vendor. Teleport supports dynamic MCP server registration without editing the static configuration of Application Service instances (goteleport.com).

## What it does for this layer

Teleport documents enrollment for streamable-HTTP, stdio and SSE MCP servers ([goteleport.com](https://goteleport.com/docs/enroll-resources/mcp-access/)). Teleport can authenticate itself to an MCP server with JWTs signed by Teleport's CA that carry the user's identity, roles and traits ([goteleport.com](https://goteleport.com/docs/enroll-resources/mcp-access/)). Teleport documents client setup for MCP clients such as Claude Desktop and Cursor, and the Teleport CLI can query enrolled servers ([goteleport.com](https://goteleport.com/docs/enroll-resources/mcp-access/)).

Teleport uses its role-based access control system to set granular permissions for MCP servers connected to a cluster ([goteleport.com](https://goteleport.com/docs/enroll-resources/mcp-access/)).
